Updating Your Payment Method

New card, replacement card, or one you'd rather stop using — swapping it out in the patient portal takes about a minute.

Step By Step

Swapping Out Your Card

The portal keeps one payment method on file at a time, so updating means removing the old one and adding the new one.

Sign In To The Patient Portal

Log in, then open Invoices from the sidebar menu.

Open Your Billing Settings

Select Invoices again, then choose My Billing from the drop-down.

Remove The Card You're Replacing

Select the trash icon next to your current payment method. Removing it doesn't affect any invoice you've already paid.

Add The New One

Select Add New Payment Method and enter the card details. Type them in yourself rather than letting your phone autofill — that's the most common reason a new card won't save.

Our portal is being upgraded in mid-September 2026. The steps above may look a little different afterward, but the idea is the same: find your billing settings, remove the old card, add the new one. We'll update this page once the new portal is live.

Good To Know

A Few Things Worth Checking

These are the details that decide whether a new card saves cleanly the first time.

Use The Billing Address

Enter the address your bank has on file for the card, which isn't always the address you ship to. A mismatch is the most common reason a card is refused.

Replace, Don't Edit

If your bank reissued your card, the number, expiration and security code have all changed. Remove the old entry and add the new card rather than editing the old one.

One Card At A Time

The portal holds a single payment method, so adding a new card won't leave the old one sitting there as a backup. Whatever's saved is what gets charged.

Updating your card doesn't pay an open invoice. If you have a balance waiting, you still need to go back to that invoice and submit the payment once the new card is saved. Having trouble getting a payment through? →

Card details are entered directly into our secure payment processor. Our support team can see which card is on file and the last four digits, but never the full number or security code.
